Since our founding in 2016, Enveritas has focused on increasing our verification footprint to enable the world’s smallholder coffee farmers to access responsible sourcing markets. For the current 2024-2025 coffee harvest year, we aim to cover two-thirds of the world’s coffee farms in over 31 major coffee-producing countries across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. This represents a population of more than 9.5 million smallholder farms and 94% of global coffee production.
Enveritas works with partners and local enumerators (who speak local languages/dialects) to reach farmers in these locations. We conduct voluntary, in-person surveys on a complete set of sustainability standards, capturing more than 500 unique data points per farm. To date, we have visited more than 320,000 farms. We have also verified more than 400 enterprises (estates and processing mills).
We are grateful for the partnerships that we have formed since our start in 2016. We work alongside a wide range of coffee and cocoa buyers, as well as with the trade, governments, NGOs, civil society, and multistakeholder initiatives in each region. Further details of our partners are available on request.
